Every Sewsome sewing pattern includes a commercial license
All Sewsome sewing patterns include a commercial license. But what does that actually mean?
It means you can confidently sew and sell garments made using Sewsome patterns without purchasing a separate license or paying any additional fees.
The license covers the sale of handmade products. You are welcome to sew garments to sell through your own online shop, at craft fairs or markets, or as custom-made orders. However, the license does not cover industrial manufacturing, mass production, or factory-made products. These uses require a separate agreement.

Why do I include a commercial license with every pattern?
I could easily have sold the license separately, but I chose not to.
One of my goals with Sewsome is to support other small businesses and makers. I know how much time, effort, and courage it takes to build a business, especially in the beginning. If I can make another maker's journey just a little bit easier, I'm happy to do so.
I also don't want you to worry about which patterns include a license, whether your license is still valid, or when it needs to be renewed. When you purchase a Sewsome pattern, the commercial license is already included.
That way, you can focus on what really matters: sewing.

Why doesn't the license cover mass production?
Every Sewsome pattern represents many hours of work. Each design is carefully drafted, graded, tested in multiple sizes, and refined before it is released.
I want independent makers and small businesses to be able to use my patterns in their own work. However, I do not want the same patterns to be used for industrial manufacturing or mass production without a separate agreement.
This allows me to support small makers while also protecting the work that goes into designing each pattern.

Sewsome was created to make sewing easier, more inspiring, and more approachable. Whether sewing is your favorite hobby or part of your business, I hope my patterns bring you joy and the confidence to create something you'll love.
If one of my patterns helps you start your own small business or supports the one you've already built, that truly means the world to me.
Thank you for being part of the Sewsome community. 🤍
